Nursing Alumni Association Funding
Each spring, the Nursing Alumni Council reviews requests for and proposes allocations, approved by the dean of the School of Nursing, of a portion of the Nursing Annual Fund to support projects and priorities within the school. The Council accepts funding proposals from faculty and nursing student organizations on an annual basis for consideration in the next funding cycle. Examples of previously funded proposals are in the current list of allocations. The next funding cycle will be for 2012-2013 (July 1 through June 30).
Directions for applying for funding:
1. Deadline: Proposals for the next cycle must be received by March 15.
2. Repeat Funding: Departments and organizations that received funds in the previous fiscal year must apply each year if they wish to be considered for continuing funding.
3. Student groups affiliated with the School of Nursing are encouraged to apply, but a faculty sponsor should endorse the proposal.
4. Content of Proposals:
Please be sure to review the Alumni Council Funding Guidelines il Funding Guidelines before writing your proposal. Proposals should be as specific as possible, and should include
- the exact amount requested, and whether a lesser amount would invalidate the request;
- a detailed description of the proposed use/distribution of the funds;
- and a justification for the funding.
5. Notifications: Final decisions and notifications may not be available until early summer when Annual Fund totals are finalized.
6. Report on Funding Use: All departments and organizations that receive allotments through the School of Nursing Alumni Association will be asked to submit the Alumni Council Annual Fund Reporting Form on the use of the funds they receive at the end of the funding period due by June 30.
